Available Ludlow Fonts

Available fonts are much reduced and the list will be updated at a later date

This is a list of the fonts that we have had available for the Ludlow Typograph or type caster or line caster.

These are all fonts on genuine Ludlow type matrixes (mats). We hand set the copy and cast onto slugs 22 and a half picas long onto a 12 point body. For fonts larger than 12 point the text hangs over the edge, leading is required to maintain correct line spacing. For sizes 36 points and larger it is prudent to support the overhang with leading of the correct height which we can supply. In exceptional cases we can switch to our 6 point mould for casting the smaller sizes but strongly encourage the use of the Intertype slugs for small body text.

Extra Condensed Gothic

A space saving version of the Gothic font. In the sizes of 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

True-Cut Caslon

A popular serif font. In the sizes of 12, 18, 24 and 36 points.

Caslon Bold

A heavier weight version of the font. In the sizes of 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Formal Script

A cursive style for those special occasions. In the sizes of 18 and 24 points.

Old English

A old world font for period reproductions. In the sizes of 12, 18, 24 and 36 points.

Record Gothic Medium

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Record Gothic Bold

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 18, 24, 30, 36 and 48 points.

Medium Condensed Gothic

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 8, 10, 12, 18, 24 and 36 points.

Tempo Bold Condensed

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 12, 18 and 24 points.

Tempo Medium

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Tempo Bold

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Tempo Medium Italic

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 8, 10, 12, 18, 24 and 36 points.

Tempo Bold Italic

A sans serif font, in the sizes of 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36 points.

Lining Plate Gothic Heavy

A chiseled font, in the sizes of 6#1, 6#2, 6#3, 6#4, 12#1, 12#2, 12#3, 12#4, 18#1, 24#1 and 24#2.

Aproximately sizes of 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 18, 20 and 24 points.

The text base-line in each basic size lines up with the others. Caps only.

Cameo

A chiseled font with highlight, in the sizes of 12, 14, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48 and 60 points.

Cameo Italic

A chiseled font with highlight, in the sizes of 14, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 48 points.

Ultra

An art deco font, in the size of 72 points.

Bodoni Modern

A serif font, in the sizes of 14, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Bodoni Modern Italic

A serif font, in the sizes of 14, 18, 24, 36 and 48 points.

Garamond Bold

A serif font, in the sizes of 48, 60 and 72 points.

Coronet

A cursive font, in the sizes of 14, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 48 points.

We encourage our clients to return all their old loose type, redundant type slugs and cut-off leading for recycling to keep your costs low.
